Finding the Best Surf Swimsuit
To avoid wardrobe malfunctions in the surf, make sure your swimsuit fits snugly, if you are worried about it becoming loose during your time in the water, you could size down, but you’ll want to make sure that your swimsuit still fits comfortably.
For the best support, pick a swimsuit with wide, adjustable straps, and a clipback or racer back design. One of our racerback tankinis paired with a pair of sports swim shorts could also be a fantastic choice.
Choose a swimwear fabric which includes some stretchy material, like our Xtra Life Lycra which forms our comfy swimsuits. We’d also recommend you avoid fussy details on your swimwear. Fringes, ruffles, beads, and metal discs all look lovely but they may cause problems during water activities.
We’d suggest avoiding halter tops with tie details or bandeau swimsuits as these may come undone or slip down whilst surfing. It also would be best to choose a style with a shelf bra rather than underwiring, as underwired swimwear can become uncomfortable when you lay on your board.
Avoid slide triangle tops with ties—they can easily come undone in the waves. Bandeau tops are also not recommended, as they tend to slip. While underwire tops may look cute, they can be uncomfortable when lying on your board.
For more coverage, you could also pair your swimwear with board shorts, swim shorts, or surf leggings. This will give you comfort and performance while allowing you to express yourself.
